Vendor timelines move, and most published advice is out of date. These are the dates that should drive your planning, checked as of September 2026.

SAP ECC	Mainstream maintenance ends 31 December 2027. Extended maintenance runs to 2030 at additional cost. A RISE-only private-edition transition option runs 2030–2033.	A typical S/4HANA programme runs 12–24 months. Starting mid-2026 still lands a 2027 go-live. Starting in 2027 does not.
Oracle EBS	Premier Support for 12.2 now runs to at least 2037 — extended annually, most recently in March 2026. The 2032 and 2034 dates still widely quoted are out of date.	You are not on a cliff. But Oracle's roadmap investment goes to Fusion Cloud, and an EBS-to-Fusion move takes 18–36 months, so it is a 2026–27 decision even for a 2029 go-live.
On-premise estates	No single deadline — the pressure comes from hardware refresh cycles, data-centre contracts and the cost of running security controls twice.	Migrate on your own timetable, sequenced by business risk rather than by whichever system is loudest.

We do not sell urgency. If your dates give you room, the honest answer is to use it — and we will say so in the assessment.

Before you ask

When does SAP ECC actually stop being supported?

Mainstream maintenance ends on 31 December 2027. Extended maintenance is available to 2030 at additional cost, and a RISE-only private edition transition option runs from 2030 to 2033. A typical S/4HANA programme takes 12 to 24 months, so a mid-2026 start still supports a 2027 go-live.

Is Oracle E-Business Suite really end-of-life in 2032?

No. Oracle extended Premier Support for EBS 12.2 to at least 2037, most recently in March 2026, and reviews the date annually. The 2032 and 2034 dates still widely quoted are out of date. There is no cliff — but Oracle's roadmap investment goes into Fusion Cloud, and an EBS-to-Fusion move takes 18 to 36 months.

Should we do a brownfield or greenfield migration?

Brownfield converts your existing system and keeps history and configuration, which is faster and cheaper where processes still fit. Greenfield rebuilds on standard functionality and suits estates carrying heavy customisation or bad process debt. Selective data transition sits between the two. We decide this in the assessment, on evidence from your own system.

How do you handle the customisations we have built up?

Every customisation is assessed against current standard functionality before anything is migrated. Typically a meaningful share can be retired because the platform now does it natively. The cheapest code to migrate is the code you do not move, and this assessment usually pays for itself in reduced migration scope.

Can you move us to the cloud without a big-bang cutover?

Yes. We migrate in waves sequenced by business risk, with legacy and target running in parallel until agreed cutover criteria are met. Each wave has a tested rollback plan. Cutovers are scheduled around your financial calendar so a month-end or payroll run is never the first live test.

Where does security fit in the programme?

In the delivery scope, not in a review afterwards. Identity and role design, secure configuration baselines, secrets management on interfaces, data classification and masking in non-production are built during the work. VAPT runs before go-live and control evidence is mapped to ISO 27001 for your auditors.

Do you only work on platforms you have listed?

We lead with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, Snowflake, Databricks, Workato, MuleSoft and Boomi across AWS, Azure and OCI. If you ask about something outside that list we will tell you plainly rather than learn it on your programme.

What does an engagement start with?

A fixed-scope assessment, typically four to six weeks depending on estate size. It produces a current-state review, a risk register, a target architecture and a sequenced roadmap. It is deliberately a standalone deliverable — you can execute it with us, with another partner, or in-house.
